Immigration Service U.S. declared war on Internet piracy
Control service behind fulfilment of the migratory and boundary legislation of the USA (U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement) which is included into the Ministry of national safety of the USA, yesterday, on June, 30th, has informed on the beginning of wide area prosecution of Internet pirates in the country.
Within the limits of initiative Operation In Our Sites which ICE spends together with the public prosecutor of the USA on southern district of New York, it has been closed nine piracy sites, offering to users illegal copies of new films.
According to statement ICE, resources Movies-links have been closed. TV, nowmovies.com, thepiratecity.org, filespump.com, planetmoviez.com, zml.org, tvshack.net, ninjavideo.net and thisninja.net.
These sites gave access to piracy copies of films free of charge, earning money for online advertising. Some resources also accepted donations from users, informs CNBC.
By word representatives ICE, the given resources were spread as a rule in the Network by screen copies of films, and frequently a picture copy appeared on a site already through a pair of clocks after a premiere. The authorities have closed the domains set forth above, and also have frozen bank accounts of sites, their investment and advertising scores, accounts in payment system PayPal.
The head of ICE, John Morton said that, despite regular action of the authorities, the number of illegal websites with movies is growing rapidly in both the U.S. and in other countries, and for their creation are organized crime groups. He also said that ICE is not going to rest on our laurels and will continue to fight piracy as part of its initiative Operation In Our Sites.
“The sites closed by us illegally showed millions films in a streaming mode, and had ten millions visitors monthly. Yes, instead of the resources closed by us appear new, but after start of such resource it is required to its owners of not less year to reach the same sizes of the traffic”, – has declared Morton.
Within the limits of initiative Operation In Our Sites the American immigration service plans to struggle not only with film pirates – will close also the sites extending counterfeit music, the software, games, other content, and even the counterfeit pharmaceutical goods.
