Iceland will become a safe haven for sites with compromising

Iceland’s parliament approved a bill which will be created “safe havens” for resources, publishing on the Internet and various kinds of compromising sensitive information

The first site which will take advantage of new Icelandic rules, becomes Wikileaks, specializing on the publication of the political and corporate compromising evidence. Wikileaks carried on negotiations with the Icelandic authorities since 2009.

The Icelandic bill became result of the initiative under name Icelandic Modern Media Initiative which has been grounded by John Perr Barlou. The purpose of the given project is “search of paths for strengthening of freedom of expression of opinions and information freedom to Iceland, and also allocation of reliable protection for sources of the information and their informants”.
